Life is a Journey.
To find the truly rare is a journey. They are out of reach, like lost treasure, rare gemstones or Aladdin’s magic lamp... you must first walk over fire, down through a tunnel up 1000 stairs before you can get near it.
Louis XIII is the pot of gold at the end of the rainbow, the crown jewel and the rabbit at the end of the hole. For this film we will capture the essence of this search for a rarities and elusive rare experiences.

Visual Direction
Follow the Red line
In keeping with the colour scheme of the masterfully crafted decanter, a theme of an elegant red line guides our journey. A quest for this "end of a rainbow" sort of feeling. In life we are all wanting for something; and throughout this film there is an ever beckoning and enticing allure we are drawn to. This idea of an neverending search for something more, a feeling, a desire or a taste.
The Script

Voice Over - " If you were born a human "
The man is follows a glowing red line down a baron city street...

Visual Script
We open on black, a red light illuminates a mans face. He looks towards the light.

" You have less than a 1% chance of being a genius. "
We continue to follow the man down the street as the voice over guides us...

" You have a 0.18% chance of falling in love today.
In the distance we see something at the end of the road, as we get closer we see its the silhuette of a door. we inch closer as the man reaches to open it.

" You have a 0.008% chance of hitting a hole in one on a par 3 hole in golf. "
The man passes through the door and into a room containing nothing but a massive staircase, with a glowing red light at the top. He walks towards the stairs and begins to climb...

" You have a 0.00009% chance to win against a chess grandmaster. "
The man passes through the top of the staircase and into a room filled with screens, on the screens are audio wave "visualizers"... as the voice over says "You have a 0.00009% chance to win against a chess Grand Master" the audio waves move in sync.

" You have a 0.00008% chance to become a movie star. "
off in the distance is a small crowd silhuetted by light, they are dancing, as they dance the man walks through the crowd glancing at the many beautiful faces and bodies moving around him.

" You have a 0.000002% chance of reaching 110 years of age. "
The crowd fades away as the man continues to walk. In the distance is a glowing singular monolith.

"You have a 0.000002% chance of winning an olympic medal."
The man inches closer to the monolith...

You have a 0.000001% chance of becoming a billionaire.
As he approaches the monolith something begins to slowly rise out of it of the top...

the iconic Louis N°XIII decanter rises from the monolith
"But you have even less of a chance of experiencing"
N°XIII: 0.0000050251256%.
Pack shot of the decanter as it's masterful form.

Location & Production Design
Location & Production Design
I love the idea that the environment we create throughout the film feels based in ancient technique & Craft like the NXIII decanter, yet futuristic at the same time. Modern lighting minimalistic and cinematic lighting techniques but in spaces that are old ancient and reclaimed by nature.
Some of the corridors and vignettes like the staircase can be built and take place in studio… Feeling more modern architecture, minimalistic and simple single source lighting that draws our character forward through the story. Even scenes like the “Night Club” could be created in studio with just a few bodies and minimal set design, reminiscent of a night club environment but in an almost surreal dream like environment.
Sound Design
Sound Design
It would be great to use a score that like our production film is timeless. Exists in both the old world and new. Orchestral and classical influences re-approriated in a modern and electronic way. I have some good working connections to some french producers that have a background in classical music, but produce more modern electronic scores and sounds that I believe would be perfect for scoring this film.
The Voice over I’m imagining to have a warmth to it and humanity to it, not too impressive in deliverance but soft and human. Like Scarlett Johanssen's voice in the movie Her.
CINEMATOGRAPHY
Cinematography
In every frame of this film we have something that’s alluring, moving or drawing the eye. The camera is always moving, a distant light is becoming brighter or fading away.
I imagine the entire film is shot with a subtle sense of slow motion. Regular motion is shot at 24 frames for second and just to emphasize your main characters movements to shoot at 36fps or 48fps. This produces a subtle effect of barely noticeable slow motion that is almost subliminal yet dramaticizes our characters movement in frame.
The film calls for extensive lighting techniques, rays of lights need to move and draw attention. We will use of custom manufactured LED shapes and putting lights on that allow us to move beams of light across a floor or room.

Casting
Casting
In the spirit of the campaign I imagine this man to be ethnically ambiguous with distinguishable Asian heritage. He has a kind face, considerably handsome and we want to root for him. He’s got a slender & fit physique as man that takes care of himself.
I also like the idea that he’s somewhat rough, throughout his journey his hair is disheveled… his wardrobe is a unique mixture of business casual with a hint of explorer. He is widely accepted and presentable in society but is very individual and an outsider some ways.
Thank You.
Thank you.
I am very excited about the possibilities we can achieve with this film. It tells a very human story, and attempts to reach out and touch the exceptional within all of us. It tells the story of human potential and what we can achieve. We all have dreams, we all believe that greatness is without our reach and want to believe we can get there. This film [promises to excite and remind us all of our potential.
